PRESS RELEASE: Experiential Marketing Firm Supports Local Charities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, New York – TrivWorks, an experiential marketing and corporate entertainment firm, has been redefining out-of-the-box marketing and entertainment with its trivia based events.  The firm is a unique business which has hosted hundreds of private events since its founding in 2009, but as die-hard New York enthusiasts, the TrivWorks team is active in community building as well with public events such as the 90’s themed trivia nights at The Bell House.  These rollicking evenings are hosted by New York television celebrity Pat Kiernan, known for his work as a NY1 news anchor, and former host of “The World Series of Pop Culture”.

The firm launched its bar trivia nights as an opportunity to build a sense of community among NYC residents.  “Private events build a sense of community and teamwork among people with a strong common bond; they are either employed with the same firm, support a local organization, or are volunteers working together for a cause,” David Jacobson, the company founder explains.  “Public events are very different, however, drawing people together from a broad spectrum of life situations.  We knew the community-building power of trivia events in the corporate setting and we wanted to transfer those benefits to the community at large.”

The most recent community theme night featured Golden Girls vs. Designing Women, a public event targeting New York’s LGBT community and timed to complement Brooklyn’s largest gay pride celebration.  While community events such as the 90’s nights generally focus on a broad range of topics, the idea for an event with a more defined topic was suggested by comedians H. Alan Scott and Eliot Glazer who revealed that both shows have a contingent of hard core enthusiasts in New York, especially among the gay community.  Tickets sold out in advance, and a crowd of 200 fans packed event hall of The Bell House.  The fans were divided into teams that competed in four rounds of trivia contests, enjoyed the comedic performance of Glazer and Scott, prizes and 90s music.

TrivWorks’charitable outreach extends beyond community building activities; they have hosted a number of experiential marketing and fundraising events for area charities such as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and Teach for America NYC Corps. TrivWorks and The Bell House have joined together in the past to present A Night of Pop Culture Trivia with the net proceeds going to VH1 Save the Music Foundation, an organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in schools increasing awareness of the value of music education in public schools.

TrivWorks has also hosted team building trivia events for numerous non-profits who are seeking a fun, non-traditional way to reward employees, volunteers and donors.  Some of these satisfied groups include the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, UNICEF, 92nd Street Y, and the American Cancer Society
