With over 25 years of professional event programming & emcee experience, TrivWorks™ founder & CEO David Jacobson is regarded as the industry’s leading expert in trivia for corporate entertainment & team building game shows. He has personally produced & emceed over 2,500 trivia events nationwide for small startup firms to multinational Fortune 500 brands, and has appeared as an expert in The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, BizBash, Entrepreneur, Successful Meetings, CNBC.com, AP and other outlets.
Prior to TrivWorks™, David served from 2006-2012 as Director of Adult Programs at Manhattan's renowned 92nd Street Y, where he oversaw 500+ adult education, enrichment and experiential learning programs annually. His previous work experience includes client service and events roles at Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations, Jazz at Lincoln Center and NYC River to River Festival, as well as City Hunt, a team building scavenger hunt company, where he served as a hunt writer, producer and host.
While working at 92Y, in 2006 David began hosting bar trivia nights in Manhattan & Brooklyn, eventually becoming named NYC's best trivia host by Time Out New York, New York Magazine and CBS New York. He founded TrivWorks™ in 2009 as a side business in response to the global economic crisis, taking it full-time in 2012.
In 2016 David relocated to Southern California, where he oversees a roster of hand-picked corporate trivia emcees, celebrities and “Special Talent” hosts based in NYC, to lead TrivWorks events nationwide.
David holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Tufts University, a master's degree in music & entertainment business from New York University, and a graduate certificate in professional organizational leadership from Columbia University. When not producing or hosting trivia events, he enjoys reading, blogging, karaoke, playing the saxophone, and participating in community events at his local synagogue. He lives in Southern California with his two children.
