Event Recap: Fordham University New Student Orientation Leaders Trivia Night
Group bonding NYC Fordham orientation
Last night, TrivWorks had the honor of working once again with Fordham University, to produce a raucous, high-energy trivia night as part of their New Student Orientation leaders training week!
We have had the privilege of working with Fordham for many years, creating NYC group orientation activities for their Graduate School of Business Administration as well as student leaders at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx.
As with last year’s event, over 200 students broken into 21 teams were rip-roaring and ready to go right from the start:

We dived into 5 rounds of team trivia, with categories including “General Knowledge,” “TV/Moves,” a music trivia round, photo identification round and a culminating “Bonus Round,” with questions worth double points. In between rounds while the score sheets were being graded, our trivia host invited representatives from opposing teams to battle it out onstage in a series of head-to-head “mini game” trivia bouts!
There’s really something special about hosting an event for a large, fully-engaged group which knows their pop culture trivia:

Before announcing the final scores and declaring our winner, we of course had to keep a Fordham tradition going with a proper dance break:

I can’t tell you what a joy it is working with a group like this – I’ve been leading corporate trivia parties and team building activities for nearly 10 yeas now, and rarely do I see groups such as Fordham who invest so much emotional energy into the event. As with last year’s orientation, the group was exceedingly competitive, yet good-naturedly so; they maintained that high level of energy and enthusiasm for the duration of the night, and were just having an absolute blast throughout!
It is such an honor to continue working with as prestigious an institution as Fordham – good luck to all of last night’s attendees on the new academic year, see you again soon!
