Client Entertainment Trivia Event Case Study: Advertising Age

Last night, TrivWorks was honored and thrilled to once again collaborate with Advertising Age to help produce their annual “Media Buzz” finale!
Held at Manhattan’s Art Directors Club and sponsored by truTV and About.com, the “Media Buzz” event was designed to culminate a year of in-house trivia nights for the magazine’s key advertising agencies, as a means of thanking them for their loyalty with a fun & social experience. As with previous years, teams representing some of the world’s leading ad agencies arrived at the space and enjoyed a festive cocktail hour, after which they donned specially-made color-coded T-shirts and sat at equally colorful tables set with branded pens, answer sheets, and a variety of other fun “goodies” for attendees to enjoy.

The event was hosted by comedian Jon Garbus, who is also the host of truTV’s new show Hair Jacked. Each question – carefully researched & written by the Advertising Age editorial team – was announced by Jon, as well as projected onto the big screen as upbeat pop music blared through the house speakers. In between rounds while the scoring was being done, Jon would then invite two contestants onstage to participate in a series of 1-on-1 trivia “mini games,” which were no doubt an audience highlight of the evening!

The event concluded with Jon awarding each member of the winning team a GoPro camera, as well as a gigantic trophy to take back to the office – serving as a reminder of how great a time they had, and how much the love working with Advertising Age!
