Science Friday trivia night FAQ

On Wednesday, May 13th TrivWorks is taking a break from our NYC corporate team building activities and office entertainment events in Manhattan to return to The Bell House, to help produce Science Friday’s first-ever trivia night!

Since 2011, our special public nights in Brooklyn have been the largest trivia nights in New York City. For those who have never been to one of these mega events, here’s a useful FAQ:

What time does it start? – Doors will open at 7:30pm, with a planned 8pm trivia start time

What time does it end? – We aim to end at aprx. 9:30-10pm

Will I get a seat? – Please note, The Bell House is a mixed seated/standing venue – we are expecting a BIG crowd at this event, and as such there will NOT enough seats for everybody. Please arrive early for best seating options

Who is the trivia emcee? – We are honored to have Science Friday host/creator Ira Flatow host this event!

What is the trivia about? – Ira will be asking a wide range of fun yet challenging science-themed trivia questions: biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, robotics – even a few questions from pop culture!

What is the evening’s format? – A team trivia contest, with Ira announcing multiple rounds of full-room trivia for  EVERYBODY in attendance

Can I come by myself? – This event is intended as team trivia contest. If you are planning to attend by yourself, we will of course be happy to assist you in finding a team to play with

How many people can be on a team? – To maintain as fair an event as possible, team sizes are limited to 8 people. In order to facilitate our scoring process, we also ask that smaller teams join together

Do we need a creative/funny team name? – YES! You will be asked to submit your team name immediately upon arrival, so please discuss with your team in advance

Is cheating allowed? – No.

What are the prizes? – We are lining up some great special prizes to give away throughout the event, as well as a “Grand Prize” for our winning team.

Are tickets still available? – Yes! However, we strongly recommend purchasing in advance, rather than at the door!
