What’s a TrivWorks Corporate Trivia Event Like?
NYC corporate trivia parties for the office
I can’t believe this – I’ve written something like 800 blog posts here on the TrivWorks site since 2011, however I don’t think I’ve ever written about this topic before. I’ve discussed everything else surrounding the work I do and the industry I’m in: useful tips and tricks about employee team building activities NYC, corporate event entertainment ideas, brand engagement, event planning and production, workplace issues and more. However, I’ve somehow never directly addressed the issue: what are our trivia events REALLY like?
For starters, TrivWorks is not a “bar trivia” company. There are plenty of pub quiz franchises and individual quizmasters out there who will gladly host your private event, however my company is different (follow this link for a more in-depth explanation of how we differ from other trivia companies in New York City and elsewhere). I founded this business with the exact opposite intention in mind: this would be something that caters exclusively to corporate audiences, specializing in the distinct needs inherent to engaging groups of hard-working staff, loyal clients, or dedicated brand enthusiasts with a fun, compelling and highly personalized social occasion.
As such, the participant experience at our events is highly unique from other offerings, and one which is proven to deliver something highly enjoyable and impactful, which is accessible to diverse groups and tailored to specific audiences/goals. Here are some of the things you can expect from us which make our events unlike anything else out there:
- Fully Customized – The heart of what we do is customization. It’s never an add-on, and not something we ever skimp on. If you bring us on board, you will get a highly tailored event designed to suit your specific attendees, as well as meet your clear objectives. The result is that EVERYBODY in attendance – the younger folks, the older folks, new hires, people visiting from other parts of the country or world – literally everyone feels like they are participating, and that the event is highly appropriate and relevant to them, making it that much more fun and memorable.
- A Great Host – We only work with the best. You won’t get a bar trivia host who’s never been in front of a corporate audience before, nor will you get an actor we found on Craig’s List who’s never done this in his or her life. TrivWorks ONLY hires highly seasoned event emcees, whom you can trust to deliver a highly polished and professional show in front of any group of colleagues, clients, executives or brand devotees.
- Laughter from Beginning to End – If nothing else, these events are just an absolute riot from start to finish – and I really mean that. Regardless of whom your host is or the nature of the gathering, your group is literally going to be laughing out loud the entire time. The best part? Only a fraction of that is going to be because of our host or trivia questions. It’s the group itself which is going to deliver the comedy material in the form of funny team names, wrong answers, heckling, and the spontaneous outburst and happenings which an event like this naturally fosters. All we do is provide the structure to facilitate this, guiding your group through what is consistently described as simply, “a blast.”
- NOT Cheesy – One of the concerns I often get from inquiring clients is that this is going to be some sort of “game show” – however, I can assure you it’s not. There are no bells, no buzzers, no bow ties or campy blazers. This is edgy, sophisticated, cool fun!
- Social – Another worry is that this is a fixed “show,” that people will be trapped with the same small group for the entire time. Once again, this is not the case; we deliberately incorporate socialization/networking opportunities throughout the gig, to make sure your group has adequate time to relax, mix, mingle and get to know one another in a fun & festive environment.
- Highly Unique & Diverse Experiences – Probably what I’m most proud of seven years after founding this company is that it has expanded far beyond what I personally can deliver. Through a series of strategic partnerships, we now have the capability to offer a truly amazing range of options to provide group bonding experiences that you’ll truly not find anywhere else. These include celebrity hosts such as NY1 morning news anchor Pat Kiernan and former Double Dare host Marc Summers, comedy from the hilarious (and game show-winning) Christian Finnegan, illusions & mentalism by award-winning magician Ryan Oakes, trivia/mixology in collaboration with Spice & Spoon, trivia/karaoke bouts, and our newest partnership with Broadway’s Next Hit Musical for trivia/musical improv comedy. Each of these is really one-of-a-kind, in that NO ONE in your group will have done anything like it before. And that’s special!
- Surprises – One of the things I love most about these gigs is that there’s so many great opportunities to delight the audience with humorous, well-placed surprises throughout. These can include the announcement of a highly-personalized trivia question which only the group in attendance will know, to busting out the iPod of the CEO and picking random songs for the audience to identify, to silly prizes given away at random, to energy-changing physical challenges such as dance contests and pie eating challenges. You never really know what’s going to happen, or when – but you can rest assured that there’s going to be some GREAT unexpected stuff over the course of the function.
I realize that a simple blog post doesn’t do justice to what these events look and feel like, however I hope that I’ve been able to paint a brief picture of just what we can deliver. At an absolute minimum, we promise an exceedingly fun, raucous, laugh-filled social experience which is fully-customized and accessible to EVERYONE in attendance. Depending on the type of event you’re looking for, we can enhance our services to incorporate any one of the “Special Hosts” or offerings above, to create unforgettable moments your group will no doubt be talking about long after the party is over!
