Prize Alert! Win Tickets to The Andy Warhol Sites Tour at “15 Minutes of Fame” Trivia Night!
We’ve been teasing our amazing prize partners this week, in anticipation of our upcoming “15 Minutes of Fame” trivia night with Pat Kiernan in Brooklyn at The Bell House. Ever since holding a contest with Gothamist last month to determine the theme of the event, we’ve been working double-time to ensure that our prizes are both fun and appropriate to the pop culture theme, including Broadway shows and pop star appearances. However, today we’re announcing what is perhaps our most theme-appropriate prize yet!
The name Andy Warhol is synonymous with many things: pop culture, art, fashion, New York City. His tremendous influence and presence can still be felt today, not only in museum galleries throughout the world (including the official Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh), but in the vernacular itself: the phrase “15 Minutes of Fame” is attributed to Warhol’s famous statement on celebrity culture, and has never been more relevant in today’s digital world. It is thus perfect that we are partnering with the official Andy Warhol Sites Tour at our “15 Minutes of Fame” trivia night!
This extremely unique, highly-detailed tour follows the footsteps of Andy Warhol, journeying deeply into his life and career through the streets of New York drawn directly from first-hand accounts from Warhol’s former roommates, friends, co-workers, family and peers. Visiting over eighty sites associated with Warhol’s artistic endeavors, personal life, and social legend, you will gain insight into the beginnings of the Velvet Underground, Interview magazine, and a close look into Warhol’s near-death shooting by Valerie Solanas!
Led by renown Warhol expert & historian Thomas Kiedrowski, The Andy Warhol Sites Tour has been highly praised by The New York Times and USA Today, as well as by fans from around the globe!
On August 21st, Pat will be giving out two tickets to attend this extremely distinctive tour, and go into the life of one of the most important figures in NYC and pop culture history. Additionally, a copy of Mr. Kiedrowski’s book Andy Warhol’s New York City, the definitive work on Warhol’s life in Gotham, will be up for grabs!
