Trivia Contest! 1st Correct Wins Jazz at Lincoln Center Concert Tickets!

JALC_Logo_CC_masterWe are just days away from our September 24th Manhattan trivia night debut, an all-NYC themed pop culture contest at Chelsea’s gorgeous Highline Ballroom with TrivWorks’ “Special Host” Pat Kiernan, and as announced earlier this week, to get you fired up we are holding a teaser trivia contest today with one of our “quintessential NYC experience” prize partners, Jazz at Lincoln Center!

Given the theme of prize, it is only fitting that today’s trivia contest focus on jazz music. Below you will find 5 fun trivia questions about jazz to puzzle over (don’t worry – we won’t ask about Kenny G, even though we can learn a lot about corporate team building from him). The first person to answer correctly will receive 2 tickets to see Toots Thielemans appear live at the Rose Theater next Friday, September 28th!

Here are your 5 questions – good luck!

(Hint: you will need to watch this awesomely weird live Herbie Hancock video first):

  1. 1.     Which instrument is legendary jazz musician Roy Haynes known for playing?
  1. 2.     Released in 1959, what is the best-selling jazz album of all time?
  1. 3.     Who were saxophonist Michael Brecker & trumpeter Randy Brecker collectively known as?
  1. 4.    In the above video, what is the official name of the instrument Herbie is playing?
  1. 5.     Which jazz singer surprisingly swept the 2003 Grammy awards, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year?

To submit your answer, please write in the “Leave a Reply” section below. Only 1 submission per person – you MUST answer all 5 questions, and they must ALL BE CORRECT!

The first person to correctly submit the answers to the above questions will win our prize!
