PRESS RELEASE: Affordable Corporate Team Building in NYC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, New York – As the end of the year approaches, many companies have begun planning their holiday parties.  In some cases, they are faced with the challenge of planning an event which will reward employees for their hard work and loyalty while staying within a much smaller budget.  One way to do this is to forgo more expensive entertainment and combine your holiday activities with affordable corporate team building in NYC.

“The last three years have been difficult for New York companies,” says David Jacobson, founder of TrivWorks, a local experiential marketing and corporate entertainment company specializing exclusively in trivia. “Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to make your year-end party fun and affordable.”  One option that has been gaining popularity in New York is hosting corporate holiday live trivia events.  This activity can be highly successful with groups from 30 to 300 either as a stand-alone activity or as part of a larger affair.

“Trivia events have several advantages,” Jacobson explains.  “Games are customized to include questions relevant to your corporate brand, company culture, teams are built to cross departmental lines and a Quiz Master is provided to make certain the night is fun, entertaining and professional.”  Everyone likes a chance to win, and a competitive activity which allows every employee to participate will make your holiday party memorable.

“A lot of our client companies issue prizes to the winning teams,” Mr. Jacobson continues.  “These prizes are nice, but not absolutely necessary.  The primary fun is the competition, and the opportunity for people to get to know one another.”  Another idea would be to let each team chose a charity they would like to sponsor.  Instead of purchasing prizes, the company can make a donation to the charity of the winning team.

There are other ways to allow employees to get involved while keeping your corporate holiday party affordable.  TrivWorks has won local fame with their themed Pub Trivia nights at places like The Bell House and Social Bar and Grill.  One tactic that has met with overwhelming success is to let the community vote on the event themes.  This is something you do for your year-end team building trivia party.  Collect trivia theme suggestions from your people and then allow them to pick the winning topic.

If your budget for food has been slashed, you can invite employee participation by having a dessert cook-off contest.  In fact, if food is not in the budget at all this year you can ask your employees if they would like to provide the food as a potluck dinner.  Individuals can sign up to make their favorite dishes.  If you have a larger organization each group could be assigned to provide a different course.  You could follow a food theme that coincides with the trivia topic or add an international flair with every group providing ethnic food from a different country.

It doesn’t take a huge entertainment budget to let employees know they are appreciated.  Using live trivia as a corporate team building activity can make this year’s party a smashing success.
