Training – How to Get Your Team Engaged

Does your team look forward to learning about new products or processes?  Do they retain the knowledge you share during meetings and workshops?  Corporate training doesn’t have to evoke groans and sighs from your team.  With creativity, you can add excitement and engagement to training sessions.

Staff training is a necessary part of business.  You need to communicate the features and benefits of new products to the sales team and explain new procedures and processes to everyone else.  If you’ve ever been frustrated with the lack of retention after a training session, then it’s time to look at ways to get everyone engaged.

It’s not enough to stand at the front of the room and explain the material.  People are much more likely to retain information they experience in multiple ways.  Instead of a lecture, consider adding a demonstration.  Show them what you want them to learn.  Demonstrate the new product or process and get everyone involved.

Ideally, training involves multiple sessions when the information is presented in varying ways.  The more often your team is exposed to the information, especially in the case of a significant change or completely new product, the more of the information they will learn.

At TrivWorks, we understand how to engage an audience.  We can work with you to design a trivia event as a part of your staff training initiatives.  We will combine questions about the training information with pop culture, current events, and similar topics.  Your team will laugh and enjoy their time together as they learn.
