Everything You Need to Know About Pat Kiernan’s 90s Trivia Night

pat.kiernan.triviaTomorrow evening, June 26th, we return to The Bell House for another high-energy public event hosted by TrivWorks “Special Host” Pat Kiernan! We’ve been getting lots of inquiries about this event and how it will be run, so to make things easy for you, here is everything you need to know about what to expect tomorrow night, “FAQ” style:

What is the format of the evening?

Upon arrival, every team will receive a packet of answer sheets, a pen, and a raffle ticket for each player. As with our previous Bell House trivia nights, attendees will enjoy both full-room trivia, as well as multiple raffle drawings for the chance to go onstage for one-on-one trivia with Pat. We will end the evening with a high-stakes “showdown” finale between the top two teams, in order to determine the overall winner!

Do I need a team, or can I play solo?

The event is intended as a team trivia contest, so arriving with a group is advised. If you are planning to come solo, we recommend you join a team upon arrival; if you have any trouble at all finding a team, come find to me – I’ll personally see to it that you are put with a fun group.

What a the maximum number of players per team?

In order to keep fair and run as smoothly as possible, we are limiting team sizes to 8 people per team.

What is the minimum number of players per team?

Based on the expected large turnout (300 people), we are requesting that smaller teams combine, in order to reduce the total number of teams. If you are planning to go as a team of 2 or 3, please consider joining forces with another team of similar size – this will facilitate grading, and increase your odds of winning as well!

Do we need a team name?

Yes, you will come up with a funny team name – it will be your team name for the entire event, so make sure it’s good! Also, in order to facilitate grading we are requesting that all teams submit their team names upon arrival – so please give some thought to what you will call yourselves BEFORE you arrive at The Bell House!

Is cheating allowed?

No.

Is photography/social media allowed?

Yes! We encourage you to share your experience both in real-time and after the event, so feel free to snap photos, tweet, blog, Facebook etc. using our official #90sTrivia hashtag.

What are the prizes?

We have lined up some truly incredible prizes for this event, including lots of 90s-themed prizes, which Pat will be giving out throughout the evening to those who prove their 90s trivia prowess. Click here for a full list of prizes being given out at the event.

Will there be food?

We are delighted to welcome back our friends Wafels & Dinges, who will be offering up the most delectable waffles on earth for the entire event – enjoy!

Am I guaranteed a seat?

Please note, in an effort to balance patron comfort with the tremendous demand for attendance, our trivia nights at The Bell House are mixed seated/standing – please arrive early for best seating options! In the event that seats aren’t available in the main room and would prefer not to stand, we will be piping in audio from the Main Room into the Front Lounge, where there will be ample seating; you will be allowed complete access to the Main Room for the duration of the event.

How to I submit my answer sheets?

After each round of trivia is announced, “Pat’s Pages” will be coming around to collect answer sheets; you can also come up and drop your sheet off at the scoring table.

How long do I have to submit my answers?

Teams will have 30 seconds to submit your answer sheets to “Pat’s Pages” or the scoring table, after which they WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

What happens after the event is over?

You are welcome to grab a photo with Pat, then make your way to the Front Lounge where The Bell House will be hosting a 90s-themed dance party!

Do I need to wear a 90s-themed outfit?

You do not have to – but we’d love it if you do!
